IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Tours are carried out in German. English may be available on request.

An exciting insight into electricity production from hydropower.

Electricity production is at its most impressive at the foot of the Grimselwelt, where the enormous water masses of the Grimsel are converted into electrical energy in the underground Innertkirchen 1 and 1E power plants. These state-of-the-art power plants regulate the Swiss electricity grid ceaselessly and with a high degree of precision. They are thus among Switzerland’s most important power plants and offer an exciting insight into electricity production from hydropower. A picnic on the banks of the Aare and a visit to the Aare gorge offer the perfect accompaniment to the tour.
