Important information about the Triftbahn
Due to technical issues and necessary adjustments, Grimselwelt is not yet able to begin tourist operations on the Triftbahn.
Currently, tickets for the Triftbahn cannot be booked.
The specialist departments involved are currently working on the necessary technical adjustments. As soon as further information on a possible start of operations is available, we will publish this on our information channels.
Today, this works railroad of Kraftwerke Oberhasli AG can also be booked for our guests and offers an unforgettable experience in the high alpine Grimselwelt.
Across the deep gorge into the Trift area
The train ride over the Triftwasser and up to the starting point for the 1.5-hour hike to the undisputed highlight of the Trift area – the Suspention bridge Triftbrücke – takes ten minutes.
Other hiking destinations here in the Trift are the Cabin Windegghütte SAC and the route over the Furtwangsattel to Guttannen.

Tickets
Online reservation in advance is strongly recommended, as there may be longer waiting times when purchasing tickets at the valley station.
Please collect your time tickets for uphill and downhill journeys with the purchased ticket voucher from the ticket office at least 15 minutes before departure so that your reserved seats are guaranteed.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the Grimseltor Tourist Center in Innertkirchen and at the Triftbahn valley station. These are valid per journey for the calendar day and time of day specified at the time of purchase. Subsequent changes, exchanges or refunds of the purchase price are not possible.
Information about the hiking trail
Good footwear and surefootedness are required for the hiking trail to the Suspention bridge Triftbrücke.
Location and arrival
The valley station is located on the Susten Pass road between Innertkirchen and Gadmen.
Equipment
The Triftbahn takes you up to around 1,400 m above sea level. Temperatures and weather conditions can change quickly in the mountains.
We recommend sturdy shoes and weatherproof clothing. The mountain paths require surefootedness and a head for heights.
Prerequisites
The Triftbahn is only accessible via stairs and is therefore not wheelchair accessible, not suitable for baby carriages and also not suitable for people with walking difficulties. There are no facilities for storing luggage.
Catering
Food for the hike can be purchased at the Triftbahn valley station.
There are no catering facilities at the Suspention bridge Triftbrücke.
Please take enough provisions with you.

30 cm, the children’s price must be paid for dogs.
