The Rychenbach – its old German name – springs from the Rosenlauigletscher. The most beautiful and powerful waterfall, 120 meters high and up to 40 meters wide, can be easily reached with the Reichenbachfall-Bahn . Not far from the mountain station, three viewing platforms offer a breathtaking view of the thundering and tumbling waterfall and the Haslital valley.
This excursion is a must for Sherlock Holmes fans – this is where the famous detective challenged his arch-enemy Professor Moriarty to a final fight – the fierce scuffle ended with a fall into the depths.
