At Grimselwelt, we live in partnership with nature, the region and, of course, with our suppliers: Whenever possible, we take the regional industry into account. This is reflected in our menu, where we source most of our meat products from our regional butchers, our dairy products from Molki-Meiringen and our bread from the Frutiger bakery in Meiringen.
Restaurant
The restaurant with its original furniture from the 1930s with tables and chairs from Horgen-Glarus is reminiscent of a French brasserie. Simple, essential, with lots of charm and good taste. And that’s exactly how you eat and drink here. There is laughter, celebration and enjoyment and everyone is welcome.
Terrace
If you let your gaze wander over the Grimselsee, high up to the Finsteraarhorn and deep down into the Aare valley, you quickly realize that you are a guest on one of the most beautiful terraces. The menu is simple, but of the highest quality – from the exquisite selection of wines by the glass to the regional specialties on the “Apéroplättli”.
Rock cellar
The real treasures of the Grimsel Hospiz lie in the cellar. More precisely – in the famous rock cellar, which reveals itself as a wine treasure trove with its unique ambience. Over 300 different wines are stored here, many from the sunny vineyards of neighboring Valais. All these bottles are just waiting to be woken up, uncorked and enjoyed – preferably in a fun aperitif round with a wafer-thin tarte flambée as an accompaniment.
