Visit to the Handeck hydroelectric power station and the crystal exhibition from Innertkirchen.
Transport from Innertkirchen followed by Guided Tours of the Handeck 1, 2, 2A Power plants and a visit to the crystal exhibition, return journey to Innertkirchen.
Construction of the first KWO Power plant began at Handeck in 1925. A second power plant was built here in 1947 and the third and most modern power plant was added in 2012. On this journey through three generations of Power plants and through the imposing labyrinth of tunnels, you will experience 100 years of Wasserkraft’s pioneering spirit.
The impressive crystal exhibition in one of the rock tunnels shows another highlight of the Grimselwelt: the most beautiful “rays”, which were found during blasting work for the replacement construction of the new Staumauern Spitallamm dam in 2019, are made accessible to visitors here.
