Innertkirchen: Experience Wasserkraft

Tour of the Innertkirchen hydroelectric power plants

An exciting insight into the impressive production of electricity from hydropower.

Electricity production is at its most impressive at the foot of the Grimselwelt. Here in the Innertkirchen 1 and 1A Power Plants, which are located underground, electrical energy is generated using the huge masses of water from the Grimsel. The state-of-the-art power plants regulate the Swiss electricity grid tirelessly and precisely. This makes them one of the most important Power plants in Switzerland and offers exciting insights into the production of electricity from hydropower. The tour can be ideally combined with a picnic by the Aare and a visit to the Aare Gorge (April to October).
