The family hike begins at the Grimsel Hospiz with a ride on the Sidelhornbahn. This takes you to the base of the Sidelhorn. Once you arrive at the mountain station, the hike really begins: you’ll climb 300 meters in elevation to the Cabin Hüsegghütte, and then enjoy the rest of the family hike. The beautiful granite trail offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and granite landscape, and of course the largest lake in the Grimsel region, Grimselsee. The hike continues past the Triebteseewli and via Bäregg, finally descending to the Oberaar Dam. Afterward, you’ll take the Oberaarbahn back to the starting point.
