Modernity meets the past at the Hotel Grimsel Hospiz. The first documented inn in Switzerland stood here as early as 1142. In 1932, it caused a sensation as the first electrically heated hotel in Europe. This environmental concept also guided the comprehensive renovation of the hotel from 2008 to 2010 – the entire building is heated with waste heat from electricity production in a conscious and environmentally friendly way. As a historic four-star alpine hotel, the hotel sits majestically above the Grimsel reservoir in the heart of the KWO region.

The impressive technical facilities also delight visitors to Grimselwelt. Guided Tours allow you to experience the Power plants, the tunnels and the famous Crystal cave. The hotel is worth a detour for its cuisine and regional specialties alone. In the deep rock cellar at an altitude of almost 2000 meters, 300 different wines await you. All this also makes the Grimsel Hospiz a popular destination for festive parties or business seminars.

In winter – deep in the snow – the historic house sits enthroned in the middle of an impressive natural landscape. A special kind of Winter Oasis.
