Reichenbachfall-Bahn

On the trail of Sherlock Holmes

Reichenbachfall-Bahn 125 years of stickers

The Reichenbach Falls Railway has been running up to the mighty, 110-metre-high Reichenbach Falls since 1899. Our nostalgic train with its original 24-seater carriages takes you up over the roaring stream, the washed-out gorge and bridges in just a few minutes. Not far from the mountain station, three viewing terraces offer breathtaking views of the waterfall and Haslital. This excursion is a must for Sherlock Holmes fans. This is where the famous detective challenged his arch-enemy Professor Moriarty to a fight – the fierce scuffle ended with a fall into the depths. Into this very waterfall!

There are only a few visitor parking spaces available at the valley station of the Reichenbachfall-Bahn on the company premises of the Meiringen Private Clinic. Additional parking spaces are available at the Alpbach parking lot.
